Lawrence Broe's business philosophy is simple and straightforward: Provide superior service on every assignment and be strongly client centered. This precise focus has served him well for three very successful decades in the executive search business. He brings a genuine passion and commitment of excellence to his chosen profession and understands what it takes to create and sustain long-standing and effective partnerships with clients.
He is a proven, results-oriented professional with a demonstrated track record of accomplishment in identifying, locating and recruiting senior and mid-level decision makers in a broad diversity of industries and functional specializations. His clients range from entrepreneurial start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, as well as a multitude of clients in the academic community, non-profit organizations, hospital systems, and governmental agencies. His accomplishments are a true reflection of his core values: initiative, drive, imagination, follow-through, discretion, and common sense.
Personally recruited by the Founder at the firm's inception in 1984, Mr. Broe was fundamentally one of the charter members of Gary Kaplan & Associates. He played a key role in the formative development of the firm, serving as Senior Associate for 12 years. He returned to Gary Kaplan & Associates in 2009.
In the past, as well as now, Mr. Broe is involved in all phases of search execution including generating basic research, supervising candidate recruitment, development and assessment, and ensuring assignments are brought to the closure phase with complete client satisfaction. He is a seasoned general search practitioner engaged in technology, consumer products, financial services, entertainment and media, manufacturing, natural resources, and distribution assignments. He is also heavily involved with Gary Kaplan & Associates' significant academic and non-profit practices.
Mr. Broe returned to Gary Kaplan & Associates from Brentwood International where he served for 14 years as a Managing Consultant and Partner. He was responsible for the northern California executive search practice, as well as actively participating in the firm's core southern California and National Search Services.
Earlier in his executive search career, Mr. Broe spent five years with Korn/Ferry International (KFI). He initially joined the firm as a Research Associate and was subsequently promoted to consulting. During the last two years of his tenure at KFI, he served as an Associate in the firm's Entertainment Specialty Practice, created specifically to service clients in radio and television broadcasting, music, film studio operations, home video, and cable, as well as theme parks/attractions.
Before entering the executive search business, Mr. Broe was employed in the oil and gas industry. He held a variety of positions including project management, consulting, research and development, marketing and public relations for ATEC Corporation and Reserve Gas and Oil Corporation.
Mr. Broe grew up in the United Kingdom and Canada before moving to the United States. He currently enjoys US/Canadian dual citizen status. He graduated from California State University, Stanislaus, earning a Master of Arts degree in History/International Relations, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.
