To fully realize the depth of experience that Mr. Kaplan has acquired in the recruitment field, one need only to look at his professional track record. Prior to founding his own firm, he served as managing vice president and partner with Korn/Ferry International where he pioneered the firm's highly successful, specialized entertainment division. His broad career encompasses human resources management positions with Bell Laboratories (now Lucent Technologies), Unisys, Booz Allen & Hamilton, American Can Company, IU International and Crocker Bank. This wealth of experience and knowledge naturally culminated in the establishment of his own executive search firm, Gary Kaplan & Associates which, since 1984, has successfully filled hundreds of management positions.
 
Mr. Kaplan has delivered numerous speeches, participated in panel discussions and workshops, and been published in such well-known publications as Broadcasting & Cable, Los Angeles Business Journal, Computerworld, Fund Raising Management, Personnel Journal, The Pasadena Star News, and Radio & Records for which he was the principal management columnist for one year. Throughout his career, he has been featured in numerous articles for nationally recognized publications including the Los Angeles Times, the Wall Street Journal, Investor's Business Daily, Variety, the Hollywood Reporter, The Chronicle of Philanthropy, Human Resource Executive, and National Business Employment Weekly. He has shared his employment expertise on a number of television programs which include the CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, ABC World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, and various programs on the Financial News Network, PBS, and the Nippon Network in Japan.
 
Supporting a number of causes dear to his heart, Mr. Kaplan presently serves as Vice Chairman on the Board of Trustees of the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association. He previously served on the Board of Directors of the Visiting Nurse Association of Los Angeles, Partners in Care Foundation, Home Pharmacy of California, The Wellness Community-National, the Penn State Alumni Council, The Pennsylvania State University Liberal Arts Alumni Society, and the California Executive Recruiters Association.
 
During his three-year tour of duty in the Adjutant General's Corps, United States Army, Mr. Kaplan rose to the rank of Captain. A graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, he is proud to have been recognized in 1998 as an Alumni Fellow, the highest award bestowed by the university's Alumni Association. In 2001 he was also the recipient of the Service to Penn State Award, presented by the College of the Liberal Arts.
